Travis lim

Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Travis Lim’s passion for dance led him to various avenues of artistic expression as a dancer, choreographer, performer, and teaching artist. Starting his teaching journey in 2015, Travis has since graduated from UCLA with a BA in Dance, and taken the tools he learned in school to cultivate his classrooms’ learning with an enriched approach to his craft. As a teacher, Travis always aims to imbue his classrooms with vitality, passion, and laughter. Approaching each lesson with the goal of connecting with his students, but also to encourage his students to have fun. As a practitioner of Hip Hop, Travis combines Hip Hop’s deep historical importance with today’s cultural impact, aiming to foster a connection between past and present expressions of Street Dance forms. Travis’s ultimate goal is to give his students the tools to use art as a vehicle of personal growth, instilling in his students a sense of confidence, resilience, and purpose that extends far beyond the walls of the classroom. Now working as a teaching artist with UniverSOUL Hip Hop, Travis aims to increase his reach and inspire as many students as he can through his art.
