Alexxa Vasquez

Alexxa ("Mx. Lexx") is from the San Gabriel Valley and has been dancing since they were three. They first got involved with choreography in both their elementary school dance team and  school musicals. They grew up watching industry choreographers like Kyle Hanagami and Dejan Tubic on YouTube, and began taking community classes themselves in 2011. After joining a competitive junior team in 2013, they became exposed to and started training in various street styles, as well as learning how to choreograph and stage full team sets. From 2017-2020 they volunteered with Foundations Choreography at UCLA to direct numerous beginner adult teams, with a personal focus on grooves, performance, and respect for history and the pioneers who came before us. 2020 steered them away from directing towards the freestyle scene, and they have been developing their house, hip hop, whacking, other street/funk art forms, and their own personal style ever since. Alexxa is passionate about youth empowerment, early child education, arts education, music history, and the power of community.
